Local State Farm Agent Jeff Hunt held Community Shred Day on Saturday September 22, 2012 to help stop identity theft in the Great Lakes Bay Area.
Vehicles began lining up around 10am for the annual free event, and organizers say the response has been great!
"There has been a steady stream of people! The turnout has been great," Hunt said as he assisted a new arrival to Shred Day.
Laura Hunt, wife of Jeff Hunt, and "Master/Ms. of ceremonies" for Community Shred Day was also helping to keep the flow of traffic moving.
"Identity theft is a growing problem," Laura Hunt said. "You need to protect yourself from thievery," she added. The purpose of this shredding event is to make sure your private documents are safe."
Donations were also being accepted for the USS Edson. For more information on the next Community Shred Day visit www.baycityshredday.com/
