To say Frankenmuth was on a roll entering Friday night's contest is a bit understating their accomplishments. After just getting by Millington by four points, the Eagles had posted over 50 points the last three weeks including a 51-6 victory over North Branch last week. Evan with Garber's 4-2 record entering into the contest, the Eagles were looking to keep the offensive machine rolling. Garber came out poised and ready and gave Frankenmuth all they wanted as the Eagles posted a 21-7 win.

The first quarter set the tone for how the night was to be. Garber took the opening kickoff and showed promise of moving the ball before Frankenmuth forced a punt. A short into the wind punt gave the Eagles midfield position to work with. But after reaching the Duke 30, Garber did not break and got the ball back on downs. A couple more punt exchanges and the Eagles started deep in Duke territory.

Frankenmuth turned to Blaine Malochleb to get their offense moving. Running the talented tailback in both directions, he slashed his way down field. Then he broke loose off right tackle and fought his way into the end zone for a 12 yard TD. Bryce Frahm's kick made it 7-0 just before the end of the first half.

The Eagle's tried to catch Garber off guard with an onside kick but the hot potato was recovered by the Dukes on their 33 yard line. To start the second quarter, Noah Bargouthy ran left and with a nice down field block by CJ Glaza, Bargouthy ran 70 yards to the house for a game tying TD at 7.

Not to be outdone, two plays later Muth's Malochleb broke right then cut back left to race 71 yards and a go ahead touchdown making it 14-7.

These two plays seemed to shake things up for both sides. After stopping Garber, the Eagles Malochleb received the punt and went down the left sideline to the Duke 5 before being forced out of bounds by punter Tyler Schroeder. The Eagles then took to the air looking for that quick score when Garber's Bargouthy intercepted the ball bringing it out to the Duke 10 yard line.

From there, Garber got busy. First Simeon Berry hit Dakota Biddle on a lateral pass that he ran to the 23. Then senior standout Wes Asel broke up the middle to the 49 yard line. Garber continued the drive to the Eagles' 19 before the Frankenmuth defense held on downs.

Frankenmuth drove the length of the field but with under a minute to play in the half, Dakota Biddle intercepted the ball and ran it down to the Eagle 36 yard line. And interference penalty moved the ball to the 20 where a 35 yard field goal was just wide and the half ended 14-7.

The second half turned into a defensive battle with Frankenmuth controlling much of the game. The Eagles' aggressive defense kept the Duke offense bottled up. Garber's defense was more bend but don't break as Muth was able to move the ball some behind Malochleb's running, but Garber put the breaks on keeping the Eagles out of the end zone.

Frankenmuth finally found pay dirt at the beginning of the fourth quarter. After a grind it out time consuming drive, Malochleb ran in from the 2 yard line to put the Eagles out in front 21-7.

The Eagle defense was able to hold off the final quarter efforts of Garber. Thanks to two interceptions, the Dukes were unable to score.
