"I'll be glad to sleep in my own bed tonight," said Josh Sharrow late Tuesday afternoon of a 5-day toy drive.

Sharrow, along with Shawn Doyle (LastChoiceCountry.com) spent five (5) days in a camper out in front of Millar's gathering up toys for local kids.

"We used FACEBOOK, MyBayCity, Twitter, Word of Mouth, e-mail, WNEM TV-5 and just about anybody that we could to get the word out," said Doyle about the toy drive effort.

At about 3:30pm on Tuesday afternoon, Sharrow posted the following on FACEBOOK:

"I'm proud to tell you that after 5 days
and with the help of countless volunteers . . .
WE DID IT!!!
1500 Toys and over $1000 in Cash donations!
Thank You!!!"

"I can tell you that this toy drive has been a huge undertaking," Sharrow said via FACEBOOK. "Doyle & I are very thankful to have been working with some awesome people like Jackie Bates from 7-11, Amy Austin and Heather Herber from from Ash Events & Shawn LaMere and Del Paiz from NightLife Venue!"

In addition, Sharrow pointed out that Scott McKenzie of Millar's was gracious to allow the toy drive to camp out for five days in front of his Euclid Avenue storefront. "He (McKenzie) provided electricity, bathroom facilities and a warm place to take a break," Sharrow added. Junior (Jr) and Ashley Stevens were also huge supporters of the toy drive. "They let us camp in their 40 foot toy-hauler and were kind enough to feed us on a couple occasions and Jr brought a propane re-fill to the toy-hauler whenever it was necessary," Doyle said as the Last Choice Country team tried to thank everyone who volunteered.

The propane became a "really big deal" Sharrow said sine the temperature fell near the mid twenty degree mark on Saturday night.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday -- Five Days in the camper by Josh and Shawn and their Toy Team gathered up donations of over 1,500 toys for kids in the Bay City/Bay County area.

Lori Genow of Pinconning dropped off a toy on the last day of the Toy Drive. "I saw something about this on TV-5 last night," said Genow. And while Genow was buying gas at the new Speedway on Euclid, she saw the signs and activity in front of Millar's. "I got gas, drove down to the store and bought a baby doll and two sets of race cars," Genow added. "This is a wonderful project for kids for Christmas," Genow added.
