Bay Future, Inc. (BFI) will be celebrating its 8th Annual Meeting with Joseph A. Affholter, Ph.D. the Herbert H. & Grace A. Dow Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Saginaw Valley State University's College of Business and Management, as keynote speaker for the event.

His presentation entitled; "Keys to Releasing a Culture of Entrepreneurship" will focus on the impact of creative and high-growth entrepreneurship in a community and how to not only identify entrepreneurs but to also supply them with the tools to make them successful.

Dr. Affholter was recently appointed to the role of Dow Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Saginaw Valley State University. In this role he remains active as an entrepreneur and uses his past and present experiences to introduce students to the dynamic world of entrepreneurship.

Affholter is a former Dow Chemical research scientist and a graduate of Michigan Technological University (B.Sc., Chemistry) and Stanford University (Ph.D., Pharmacology). He is an inventor of various biomedical and chemical technologies and an active consultant in business and technology development.

Affholter is also a co-founder of GANTEC Inc. (Midland, MI) and has played key roles in the start-up of several other biotechnology companies, including the early stage development and IPO of the biopharmaceutical company, Maxygen. His interests include integrating innovation and advanced technology with economic development and environmental improvement; especially in West Africa.

The Bay Future, Inc. Annual Meeting will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Doubletree Hotel Bay City-Riverfront at One Wenonah Park Place in historic Downtown Bay City. Registration begins at 11:30am with luncheon and program to follow at 12:00pm. Tickets are available for a cost of $20 per individual or $150 per table (seats 8).
