It was a great match up of two solid Bay County teams. Both teams have a proficient three point shooter and both teams love to push the ball up the floor. But while Pinconning has a strong inside game, the Lady Bobcats quickness and pressure defense has been causing fits for every team they faced. In the end, John Glenn's pressure defense claimed another victim as they wore down Pinconning en route to a 42-24 victory.

The game started off as a defensive battle as neither team could get their offenses going. Pinconning held the edge on the strength of a Breanna Bush three pointer, 3-2, half way through the first quarter. John Glenn kept firing from three point range with no success while Pinconning looked inside for senior center Lyndsi Lorenz. Pinconning grabbed the early edge as Lorenz scored a bucket and two free throws to help the Spartans claim a 7-4 first quarter lead.

John Glenn stayed with their game plan of three point shooting and pressure trap defense as the second quarter began. Their patience paid off as sharp shooter Jenai Laporte caught some fire. First she hit a towering three pointer followed by a pair of free throws then finished the quarter off with another two point shot. Laporte scored 7 or Glenn's 9 points in the quarter to help pull them ahead. Meanwhile, the defensive trapping pressure caused fits for the Pinconning guards as the Lady Spartans were unable to work the offense. Multiple steals and turnovers stifled their attack as Glenn held Pinconning to a Lorenz bucket and free throw for the quarter. Glenn now held a 13-10 half time lead.

Jenai Laporte started the third period with one of her skyscraper three pointers. The Lady Bobcats put on their press trying to deny Pinconning from crossing the half court line. Pinconning spread out their offense and Breanna Bush responded with a three of her own. The Spartans kept attacking the inside helping them pull even at 20 but couldn't get over the hump. Glenn's quickness took over as they five more points to lead 25-20 at the end of the third period.

John Glenn's constant pressure couple with their quickness wore the Spartans down in the final period. Glenn exploded with several turnovers to make a 7 point run stretching their lead to 32-20. While Pinconning continued to get the ball down low, the shots just wouldn't fall. John Glenn converted those missed shots into Bobcat points as they pulled away for a 42-24 win.
