Next week will be a busy week for Charles Allen. It all begins with him competing for a spot on this season's American Idol in Hollywood, CA; and Friday (February 8th) night he will return to his hometown to be a part of a memorable night for the Saginaw Sting.
Bridgeport High School graduate, Charles Allen, will be singing the National Anthem next Friday night at The Dow Event Center when the Sting's CIFL season kicks off. Allen is a 22 year old Saginaw native who got his golden ticket during the Chicago auditions for American Idol in September.
The Saginaw area is excited to see how Allen does in his spot in Hollywood premiering February 6th, just two days before kickoff. He is also releasing some music via iTunes in the coming weeks.
We're just over one week away from the Saginaw Sting home opener, as the Sting look to defend their undefeated 2012 season against the Marion Blue Racers.
The Sting Re-Signs the 'Twins'
As the saying goes the Saginaw Sting doesn't rebuild they reload. This includes the resigning of two outstanding defensive players, Jamar and Jamaal Hibler.
Fans may remember them as #2 and #5 (respectively). The Hibler twins are natives of Saginaw, and excited for some more fast paced football as players for the Sting.
"We're delighted to have back two of Mid-Michigan's finest athletes," said Co-Owner Jim O'Brien. "They are a cornerstone of our championship caliber defense and we're glad to have them return."
Don't forget to get your tickets and check out what the Hilbers have in store for the 2013 season! Tickets start at $10 and can be bought at The Dow Event Center or www.ticketmaster.com.
