On Saturday, February 23, 2013 The Dog Gone Good Chapter of the National Association of Breweriana Advertising will be holding its annual Buy-Sell-Swap Show at the Tri-City Brewing Company, 3020 N. Water Street, Bay City, Michigan.

February 23rd event is open
to the public and runs from 9:00 till 2:00.
Admission is free! Vendor
tables are only $8 per table.
It started nearly 25 years ago (in 1989), in the basement of the Main Street Tavern, in Frankenmuth; a group of 14 guys passionate about collecting breweriana decided to form an organization to seek out other like-minded individuals and promote this unique hobby. They adopted the slogan from the defunct Frankenmuth brewery, which featured a dachshund as its mascot/logo, boasting that their beer was "Dog gone good!" The group has grown to nearly a hundred members and has hosted 2 national conventions in 2007 and 2011 - attracting folks from all over the United States (and pumping thousands of dollars into the local economies).

What the heck is "breweriana"?

According to Wikipedia: Breweriana commonly refers to any article containing a brewery name or brand name, usually in connection to collecting them as a hobby. Examples include beer cans, bottles, openers, tin signs, coasters, beer trays, mirrors, wooden cases, neon signs, advertising or artifacts of any sort.

The Tri-City area has a rich brewery history - Bay City: The Bay City Brewery, The Phoenix Brewery, The Kolb Brewery, The Rosa Brewery - Saginaw: The Banner Brewery, The National Brewery, The Saginaw Brewery, The Star Brewery - Frankenmuth: The Frankenmuth Brewery, Geyer Brothers Brewery - Sebewaing: The Sebewaing Brewery, to name a few. Collectors not only seek out artifacts from these breweries, but from other Michigan breweries as well. Because of this brewing history, it was a natural fit, for this group to chose the Tri-Cities as its home base, though members are from all over Michigan and as far away as Kentucky.

For the first dozen years, the group held its events in Frankenmuth, but show venues moved to Bay City after that. However, winter shows started being held in micro-breweries across the state, including: The Michigan Brewing Company, Mountain Town Station, BARTS, and now the Tri City Brewing Company.

This February 23rd event is open to the public and runs from 9:00 till 2:00. Admission is free! Vendor tables are only $8 per table. There will be a raffle of many breweriana items, including a neon sign. Food and beverages will also be available.
