It's time for Summer Reading Program with the Bay County Library System! As always, we have a great line-up of FREE activities to keep the whole family engaged such as family movies, Frisbee dog demonstrations, live animal programs, Manga drawing, henna art, cooking (and eating!) workshops, hands-on science experiments, puppet trope performances, and much more! A complete schedule is available at www.baycountylibrary.org.

Reading logs for all programs are available at each branch library and the Bookmobile beginning June 10. All logs must be returned and prized picked up by the end of business on August 10. While supplies last, everyone who signs up receives a free, newly designed book bag! Here are some basics about each of this year's reading programs:

Adult Program: Ground Breaking Reads: Complete the log by reading 8 hours. Return your log to have your name entered in a drawing for a gift card (3 per branch).

Teen Program: Beneath the Surface (Grades 6-12): Complete the teen reading log by reading 16 hours. Return your log, receive a free book and have your name entered in a drawing for a Kindle Fire HD.

Children's Program: Dig into READING (Birth-Grade 6): After completing the first reading log, each child may choose a free book. Children who continue to read beyond the first log (8 reading hours or 24 books) may fill out additional logs (4 reading hours or 12 books each). For every additional log completed, children are entered into a prize drawing. In addition, the Bay County Library System holds a bookmark contest for children in Pre-K through 6th grade. Winners in each of four age categories will have their bookmarks professionally printed and distributed in each branch library and the Bookmobile. Visit your branch library or www.baycountylibrary.org for your entry form. Entries are due Aug 10.
