Bay Area Community Foundation Fall Grants Available

Bay City, MI - Applications for grants through the Bay Area Community Foundation are now available. Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, educational institutions, and government entities in Bay and Arenac Counties are eligible to apply. Applicants are required to contact the Foundation's program staff prior to completing an application. Grant applications, guidelines, procedures and information on funding priorities, can be found on the Bay Area Community Foundation's website, www.bayfoundation.org.

Arenac Community Fund will accept grant applications for projects and programs which impact Arenac County. The application deadline is October 1, 2013. For more information, contact Jeffery Tenbusch.

Arenac County Healthy Youth/Healthy Seniors Fund will accept grant applications for projects and programs that benefit the health and wellness of youth or seniors in Arenac County. The application deadline is October 1, 2013. For more information contact Jeffery Tenbusch.

Bay County Healthy Youth/Healthy Seniors Fund will accept grant applications for projects and programs that benefit the health and wellness of youth or seniors in Bay County. The application deadline is October 1, 2013. For more information contact Lisa Cleland.

Dow Corning Donor Advised Fund will accept grant applications for projects which improve scientific literacy through increased access to math, science & technology education; improve vitality and quality of life in the Bay Area; and/or improve awareness and increase utilization of sustainable, innovative technologies. The due date is November 1, 2013. For more information contact Lisa Cleland.

Elizabeth Husband Fund will accept grant applications for Bay County programs that provide holiday season activities. Examples of such activities are, but not limited to: food baskets, clothing, and children's toys. The application deadline is October 1, 2013. For more information contact Lisa Cleland.

Environmental Fund will accept grant applications for efforts to educate and engage citizens; evaluate, protect, and improve natural areas and resources; and build healthy sustainable communities. The application deadline is October 1, 2013. For more information contact Lisa Cleland.

Flood Family Donor Advised Fund will accept grant applications for historic preservation projects within the City of Bay City. Preference will be given to projects that follow the City of Bay City's Historic District Commission's standards. Historic building reconstruction and re-purposing projects outside of historic districts but still within Bay County will also be considered. Grant awards are $500 or less. Northern Bay County Endowment Fund - Mini Grant will accept grant applications for projects and programs in Northern Bay County. Grants are only awarded to local nonprofit whose programs impact Northern Bay County. Grant awards are $500 or less. The application deadline is October 1, 2013. Oscar P. & Louise H. Osthelder Advisory Fund will accept grant applications for projects and programs which benefit Bay County. Grants in the past have included but not limited to large bricks and mortar type projects. The application deadline is October 1, 2013. For more information contact Lisa Cleland.

Squires Foundation will accept grant applications for organizations with programs that benefit children and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities that reside in Bay County. The application deadline is October 1, 2013. For more information contact Lisa Cleland.

Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) will accept grant applications to fund projects that directly benefit the youth (18 and under) of Bay County. Previous grants were given to projects that improved youth's quality of life through health, safety, education, and recreation. Grant applications are not limited to these categories.
