One key to success is to win the games you are supposed to win and Garber did just that Friday night. But this isn't the same old Bridgeport team as they had three wins and were still in the playoff hunt. They also sported an explosive offense capable of putting up big numbers. Garber showed they are not only destined to return to the playoffs again this year, but used their multiple weapons to accomplish a decisive victory over Bridgeport, 48-0.

Garber seized control of the game from the opening kickoff. Starting with their power running attack formation, they handed the ball to their workhorse, Noah Bargouthy. Two plays later, Bargouthy took a pitch around left end and raced 47 yards for Garber's first score. Drew Piotrowski's kick made it 7-0.

After both teams exchanged nice but stalling drives, Garber began at midfield. QB Logan Martin threw a swing pass to Simeon Berry and let the talented senior do the rest. Getting a nice kick out block from his wide receiver, Berry ran 51 yards cutting back to avoid a tackle for a touchdown and putting Garber ahead 14-0.

On Garber's next possession, it was Berry again, this time using his arm. On what looked to be an end run, Berry stopped, slipped then regained his balance in time to throw a 67 yard touchdown strike to fellow receiver CJ Glaza who had beat his defender down the right side of the field. After an offside penalty moved the extra point up, Garber went for two falling just short but leading 20-0 early in the second quarter.

Berry then completed a football "hat trick." After catching a touchdown pass then throwing for one, Berry went up and intercepted a Bearcat pass then returned it 68 yards behind some great blocking for another touchdown making it 27-0.

Garber's defense came up big all night too. Just when Bridgeport looked like they might get something going, the front line would record a big sack to put an end to it.

After Garber took a punt at midfield, Bargouthy burst off left tackle running the ball to the Bearcat 29. Following a penalty, Logan hit CJ Glaza for Glaza's second touchdown of the night. Glaza took a quick slant pass and split the defense for a 32 yard touchdown and a 34-0 halftime lead.

Garber kept the hits coming to start the second half. Starting deep in their territory. Logan stepped back to pass then slipped the ball to Bargouthy on an old Statute of Liberty type play. Bargouthy took it around left end to midfield. Logan then ran the ball to the Bearcat 19 before Garber just kept giving it to Bargouthy who powered the ball in from the three yard line and the Dukes were well in command 41-0.

Berry finished off the scoring for the night with his fourth touchdown play, this time running. Following his blockers around the right side, he spotted a seam and exploded 21 yards for a touchdown and a 48-0 win.

With the win, Garber increases their record to 5-2 and are just one win away from qualifying for the playoffs for their second straight year. They look to clinch the berth at home next week as they hosts Otisville LakeVille Memorial to close out their league play.

Noah Bargouthy rushed for 220 yards on 19 carries while Berry added 58 yards on just 4 carries. Logan Martin was 3 for 5 in the air good for 96 yards and two scores.
