The good folks at Disability Services Resource Center were at it again Thursday night: serving neighbors. This time, instead of the serving being building a ramp, providing needed disability equipment or just giving kids a chance to experience the thrill of sports through their ACES program, DSRC was serving dinner.

The Essexville Knights of Columbus Hall was the spot for hot soup and warm friendship. From the moment you entered the hall, you were greeted with Donna's always present smile. Happy chatter from the tables filled the air as friends and families met to share a good laugh and a good meal courtesy of local businesses and people. But the focus tonight was the realization of people still helping each other.

Besides dinner, DSRC held a raffle with donated items. There were gift certificates to be won from UNO's, Oasis, Zef's Coney Island, Wanigan's Eatery, Roma's and Auntie Annie's . You could also win a sauce packet from Buffalo Wild Wings as well. But one of the feature prizes was the lovely paints of Bay City's own Luanne Kuhl. She had graciously donated four of her paintings and you can see more of her art work including her Japanese Woman at Do Art on Washington Ave.
Luanne Kuhl's art work was just one of the door prizes to be won.

This year saw a large crowd ascend on the fundraiser to help support such a worthy cause. This helps insure that those in need in the Bay County area will continue to receive help from DSRC.
Friends gathered to enjoy dinner and conversation.
