John Glenn was looking to make a statement as they took on Midland Dow in non-conference action. But Dow has been making a statement all year with their high-powered offense as they have been averaging 41 points a game. After the Bobcats jumped out to a 13-7 lead by the end of the first quarter, the Chargers quick strike attack rattled off four straights touchdowns to go on to record a 49-27 win.

After stopping John Glenn on their first possession, it didn't take the Chargers long to get on top. After a short punt gave them possession on the Bobcat 39, Dow QB Brennan Miller hit Caleb Richard on a 39 yard touchdown strike on their first play from scrimmage to jump out to a 7-0 lead.

After a personal foul moved Dow's next possession to the Charger 14, Glenn got a break when they recovered a fumble on Dow's 20. Aided by another penalty, Glenn's Conner Bluhm noted the score when he drove it in from the one yard line making it 7-7.

Then the Charger's offense took control of the game. After exchanging punts, the Chargers started on their 20 on the first of two scoring drives. First, they moved the ball out on the ground then Miller hit Michael Robb on a 33 yard pass to the Bobcat 5. Then Richard burst through the hole for a touchdown and a 14-13 lead.

After a big John Glenn punt pinned the Chargers on their 3, Miller hit Travis McNally on a 32 yard play to get out of the shadow of their end zone. Later Miller ran the ball 17 yards to the Bobcat 7. Moments later, Caleb Richard finished it off with a four yard run and a 21-13 halftime lead.

The fun didn't stop for the Chargers to start the second half. After receiving the kickoff, Dow struck early with a 29 pass to McNally that set up a 14 yard Richard touchdown and a 28-13 lead.

The Chargers then execute an onside kick recovering the ball on the Bobcat 46. A 29 yard strike to Robb followed by a McNally 8 yard run set it up for Richard to cap off the 3 play drive with a 9 yard scamper and Dow was thoroughly in control, 35-13.

When John Glenn finally got their hands on the ball, they started on their 15 yard line. Utilizing their power game, they moved the ball methodically down field tossing in an 18 yard pass to Adam Meyer before Austin Bublitz powered the ball in from the 2 for a Bobcat touchdown closing the margin to 35-20.

But the Charger offense couldn't be stopped in the second half. Starting near midfield, Richard opened up their drive with a 33 yard run. Later Miller hit Robb on an 18 yard pass to the Bobcat one before Richard ran the ball in for his fifth touchdown on the night making it 42-20.

After holding Glenn on downs deep in Bobcat territory, Miller connected with Robb for a 14 yard touchdown making it 49-20.

Glenn would answer in the fourth quarter. Putting together a 13 play drive, Clyde connected with Dean Wesenick for 17 yards then Clyde took it in himself from the one yard line making the final 49-27.
