Even if you didn't see them, you probably heard them. Thousands of bikers came to Bay City for the Graff Chevrolet Bike Bash on the river front. For four days the streets of the City saw some of the best looking motorcycles in the state. Some were loud, but they were also "way cool"!

The Bike Bash, organized and produced by Bay City's AdoreAble Promotions, is a new event for Bay City's Summer of events. According to a Bay City Times quote from Steve Coppler, president of AdoreAble, 3,000 people showed up on Thursday and 7,000 on Friday.

The event featured entertainment, vendors, demonstrations and the opportunity to parade and just look at some really great bikes.

On Sunday a special tribute to Veterans was held at the Viet Nam Memorial at the entrance to the park. After the color guard presented the flag, a group of bikers provided a roaring, thrilling, and emotional salute by reving their engines in unison.

A West Michigan bike stunt team known as the 1096 demonstrated some fancy riding in a roped off area of the parking lot. According to Matt Blankstrom, " 1096 is the Michigan State Police code for an insane or crazy person". Blankstrom grinned and said the code just seemed to fit his team.

Many people have a pre-conceived notion that bikers and bike shows might be a bit wild. The Bay City event proved that's not always the case. Everyone was well behaved, polite and in most cases "mature". Considering the turn out and the fun, MyBayCity.com votes to bring this event back next year!
