It's all fun and games when the Bay City Fireworks Telethon goes on the air each year.

This is the 28th Annual Telethon and the March 1-2 fundraiser is for the upcoming 52nd Annual Bay City Fireworks celebration set for next July. The goal this year is to raise $20,000 in preparation for the upcoming Bay City 2014 fireworks weekend -- July 3, 4, 5. http://www.baycityfireworksfest.net/

Doug Clark, Bay City Fireworks Festival president keeps everybody focused and pointed in the right direction. "It's a labor of love for everybody involved," Clark said.

But it's Jeff Doan and Mike Gwizdala that are front and center during most of the two-day Bay3TV telecast that drives people to watch, bid and make the cash registers ring.

Jeff Doan says this telethon event is nothing but fun for him. "I come over to BARTS and get to hang out all weekend with Gwiz (Mike Gwizdala)," Doan said on Saturday morning. "It"s just a great time. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Gwizdala has been working for the fireworks event for 15+ years. "The first telethon was back in the early 80's," Gwizdala said. Gwizdala pointed out that the telethon has been held at Studio 23, both the old and new Labadie car dealerships and was also held at the Bay City Mall Center Stage.

We'll be here tonight 'til 10pm or so, Gwizdala said. "And then we'll be back Sunday morning at 8am and be on Bay3TV for most of the day/night.

The telethon can also be seen online at . . . http://www.livestream.com/bay3tv
