Nine Inducted at Bay County Sports Banquet - 350+ Attend Downtown Fete

Bay County Sports Hall of Fame President, O. J. Cunningham (at the podium)speaks to over 350 sports enthusiasts in attendance at the 15th Annual Banquet held at DoubleTree Hotel on October 23rd.

Inductees are seated on the DoubleTree stage. Inductees were (Left to right) Art Trombley, Denny Hayes, Mary Pawlak (Accepting for Beth Pawlak), Steve Hickner, Jean Pabalis (Accepting for Don Pabalis), Joe Garrett, C.J. Zanotti, Emily Engle, Joe Todey, Harold Holcomb. At far right is Master of Ceremonies Eric Jylha.

The recent ceremony brings the total of Bay County Hall of Fame inductees to 128. Plaques commemorating the Hall of Fame honor are hung on the wall of Bay County Community Center, located on John F. Kennedy Drive on Bay City's west side.

$500 scholarships were awarded to All Saints' Andrew Lukowski, Bay City Central's Bryan Gerard, Essexville Garber's Alison Nesbitt, Bangor John Glenn's Brittany Willaims, Pinconning's Jon Foco and Bay City Western's Cody Basler. The scholarship program, in its 12th year has already distributed $36,000 to deserving scholar/athletes.
