There are sure signs of spring; robins in the yard, daylight savings time and boat shows. While winter's grip is holding off the birds, the arrival of daylight savings time and the Dow Diamond Boat Show gives us hope.

Luxury abounds on these pontoon boats..

Dow Diamond is a perfect venue to wet the soon to come warm weather appetite. Walking the sealed in concourse with the beautiful ball field on one side, the concourse filled with boats in the middle and Loons baseball reminders on the inside gave memories, if only for a moment of the great warmer times that lay just ahead.

This year's event featured pontoon boats, and a lot of them. No longer are these the aluminum decks with a motor we grew up with. These beauties feature huge engines for water skiing, tubing or just a thrill ride at high speeds. And talk about luxury. These fully equipped units make a day on the water truly a social event of ultimate fun and sun.

Plenty of pontoon styles to look at..

Fear not, spring will soon be here as the daylight savings time and the hot boats assured us of that. But alas, as I left Dow Diamond Friday night, that stiff wind reminded me that any Robin Alert is still a few weeks away.

The Tracker boats are ready to go..
