SUPERBOWL XL - 40th Anniversary
GAME TIME is 6pm on ABC


Detroit's, Ford Field, the $500 million dollar project which was completed in August 2002, is in the heart of downtown Detroit's entertainment district and will be packed with NFL Football Fans and fill the 65,000 seats including 8,500 club seats that feature private lounges, upscale food service and private parking not to mention the rest of the 1.85 million sq.ft. of restaurants, concessions and retail.

The last time the SuperBowl was held in Michigan was Super Bowl XVI at the Pontiac Silverdome January 24, 1982.

The game will be broadcast to a potential world wide audience of 1 billion in more than 224 countries and territories. And in Bay City, local bars and restaurants are making Super Bowl plans.


According to http://www.superbowl.com , The legendary Rolling Stones, are taking a break from their "A Bigger Bang" World Tour and will preform in the Half time Show. "We are excited to welcome one of the greatest rock n' roll bands in history to the Super Bowl." said Steve Bornstein, the NFL's executive vice president of media and president and CEO of NFL Network. "As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Super Bowl this season, it is fitting we work with The Rolling Stones whose music has thrillled audiences around the world for years." adds, Bornstein. "We are thrilled to perform for millions of fans at one of the most exciting and highly aticipated sporting events of the year!" said the Rolling Stones.

Pittsburgh Steelers Defeat Denver Broncos 34-17 for the AFC Championship.
Pittsburgh's last appearance at the Super Bowl was 10 years ago in Super Bowl XXX when they were defeated by Dallas 27-17.

Steeler QB, Ben Roethlisberger had a brilliant afternoon, throwing for 275 yards and two scores, and Jerome Bettis extended his career one more game. According to NFL.com, Bettis shouted, "We're going home!" as the game wore down and he celebrated on the sideline. He is, indeed, going back to his hometown of Detroit.

Seattle Seahawks Crush Carolina Panthers 34-14 for the NFC Championship.
This will be Seattle's first trip (ever) to the Super Bowl.
According to NFL.com, Shaun Alexander came back from last week's concussion to rush for a team playoff-record 132 yards and two touchdownswhile Seahawk QB, Matt Hasselbeck threw for 219 yards and two scores. "We're not done yet," Hasselbeck said. "We've got another game we've got to go win."
