The fourth annual Bids for Kids online auction benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Great Lakes Bay Region opened today with dozens of items and experiences available for bid. The auction, which runs from Monday, June 15 through 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, can be viewed at www.bigbids.org.

"Bids for Kids is our most unique fundraiser of the year," said Susan Putnam, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Great Lakes Bay Region. "It's also one of our most important, as it provides critical support for our mentoring programs across the region."

Bids for Kids features more than $42,000 worth of unique items and experiences including: vacation packages, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers and U of M football tickets, designer purses, handcrafted artisan items, a charter fishing excursion and much more.

"With so many items and experiences available, everyone is sure to find something they would enjoy," said Putnam. "From golf packages to a condo rental in Florida, we have it all covered. We also have several night on the town packages for those wishing to enjoy an evening out while staying close to home"

Bids for Kids is conducted entirely online. Those wishing to participate in the auction must visit www.bigbids.org, where they can complete a simple registration, and begin placing bids on items they select. The auction will remain open until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 29.

All proceeds raised through the Bids for Kids online auction will support Big Brothers Big Sisters programs throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region, including our traditional one-to-one mentoring and school-based Teaming up with Youth mentoring programs.
