The Willew Lounge in Bay City was host to yet another fun night of singing and sports. While the Tigers were mediocre and struggled in the World Series opener, the contestants who made it out to Karaoke for Ka$h were anything but.

Finalists Jesse Fisher and Mandy Glashauser continued to impress judges with their powerful vocals and ability to draw the crowd in to their performance. "You're the embodiment of what it takes to win this competition," said Judge Connelly after Glashauser's performance. "You've got the look, the attitude, the vocal ability. For everyone that's in the finals: Watch her. When she's on stage, that's what you have to be better than."

One of the new contestants, Danielle Kiersey, was one that already had many of the core judging areas (Vocal Ability, Look, Attitude, Crowd Reaction, Stage Presence, and Song Knowledge) down. However, being a part of a competition is something that she hasn't experienced before. "Being in front of the judges was a lot scarier then I ever expected," said Kiersey. "I forgot the words and lost my way in a song I sing all of the time! I never tried out before because I was worried the criticism would take the fun out of it. I was wrong!"

Kiersey has been singing since she was in middle school choir, but never in any other capacity until last year. "I wasn't as sure about my vocals as everyone else seems to be. My confidence is building and I'm slowly leaving my shell," said Kiersey. "I've always been attached to music [...] I'm strictly a karaoke girl, I sing to smile, to forget about stress, and make other people smile. To me, that's all it's about."

Kiersey plans on coming back for the finals and her chance to win $500 on November 14th. She'll join six others who have already punched their ticket after winning the weekly $50 competition at the Willew. Karaoke for Ka$h takes place every Wednesday night at the Willew Lounge with warm-ups starting at 8PM with the competition getting underway around 9PM.
