Sting Hold First Tryout, Announce Dec 15th Tryout

Saginaw, MI -- The Saginaw Sting held their first tryout this past Sunday at the Saginaw Athletic Club and there was a great showing from over 20 prospects. The players were put through a number of tests and drills in front of Couch Townsend and his staff. The prospects came from all over the state for a chance to play for the defending CIFL Champions. The field was ramped up with energy and the players really brought their best for the day.
"Once again we got to see some of the top talent in the Great Lakes Bay Region on display at a Sting tryout," said Head Coach Fred Townsend, "There were some guys who really impressed our staff and will be invited to training camp in January."
Some key returning players also came to the tryout and helped facilitate drills. Present to help to the future Sting prospects were 2012 CIFL Championship players including Keath Bartynski, Michael Carter, Jeff Austin, John Horton, Dwight Hargrove and Demarcus Copes.
As the coaching staff makes their decision on who will be invited to camp beginning in January the Sting are pleased to announce an additional tryout will be held in December.
If you are interested in playing for the defending CIFL Champion Saginaw Sting, there is still a chance! On December 15th there will be a second tryout at Perani Arena in Flint.
