Wenonah Park Fills With Families and Fun

Dennis Beson, Parkapalooza event organizer and President of Dstreet Music Foundation succinctly summed it up for the crowd, "We are about music!".

The first time family friendly event, Parkapalooza was held Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Downtown Bay City at the Wenonah Park Friendship Shell. This free event featured music from, Loose Change, Swaggering Rogues, Chad Sibley and Chris Shannon,The Hit Men, Lauren Jones, The Josh Ramses Band, Mandi Layne and the Lost Highway, Elements of Funk and Faultr.

Dennis also thanked sponsors, Catholic Federal Credit Union, The Bay City Mall, Miller Insurance group, Home Depot, Labadie Auto Company, C & L Ward Brothers, Computers To Go/Virtual Craftsman, saying, "We can't do it without our sponsors!"

In addition to live music all day, there were a variety of activities for the kids, food, silent auctions and fun.

He added, "We had a great time in Bay City, a great turn out. At last count with adults and kids flowing through the park all day, we had an estimated number of over 1300 people for the first year event in Bay City. Next stop is September 13th at Sanford Lake Park for Parkapalooza Sanford."

Dstreet Music Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization with three main principles:

Improve the general quality of life in a community by providing low or no cost concerts.
Provide musical instruments to children from economically challenged families through our Bandwagon Program.
Assist music minded individuals with financial scholarships for attending college, trade school, or fine arts academies.
