EPIC-MRA Statewide Poll on Candidates, Officials Yields Confusing Results

The EPIC-MRA statewide poll taken last week among 600 likely Michigan voters shows both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump with higher favorability ratings than Jeb Bush.
Clinton and Trump were tied at 32 percent total favorability while Bush trained at 29 percent.
However, the tables were turned when the question was asked: "If the election were held today, and you had to decide right now," 45 percent say they would vote for Bush while 40 percent would vote for Clinton.
Clinton won the nod at 44 percent versus 42 percent for Donald Trump when the same set of facts were posed.
Gov. Rick Snyder was at 48 percent favorable while President Barack Obama logged in at 46 percent.
Obama took a bath when the question was "how would you rate the job being done by Barack Obama as President: his total negative was 58 percent while total positive was just 41 percent.
Snyder likewise was ranked 52 percent negative for the job he is doing with 45 percent calling his performance positive.
The poll found voters believe Michigan is headed in the right direction by 45 percent to 36 percent who see the state on the wrong track, with 19 percent undecided or refused to answer.
However, 65 percent think Michigan's economy has already bottomed out and is starting to improve.
The Tea Party was dunked by Michigan voters in the poll with 45 percent opposed and 27 percent favoring.
On the volatile issue of abortion, 49 percent declared themselves as "pro choice -- women have the right to abortions," while 45 percent stated they were pro-life -- against abortions except to save the life of the mother."
Some 37 percent described themselves as Conservative while 33 percent declared themselves Moderate and 21 percent liberal.
Regarding party adherence, 42 percent identified with the Democrats and 37 percent with the Republicans.
