"Victor Frankenstein" seems to have a lot of possibilities. It is billed as the Frankenstein story from Igor's point of view. It really wasn't.
At the beginning and then the end Igor, played by Daniel Radcliffe, narrates briefly with, "You know the story; a crack of lightning, a mad genius, and an unholy creation."
Yes, perhaps I know the story all too well. I've read the book twice and seen most adaptations. This is the most poorly told. Many times the director seemed to be trying to reinvent Mary Shelley's masterpiece.
The acting of Radcliffe and James McAvoy was great. They seemed to be trying so hard. The sets were very elaborate and well done. There was however far too much gore. Nothing was left to the imagination. The photography left something to be desired. In the action scenes the movements were jerky and slo-mo. The story started with promise but turned into the story from the mad doctor's and movie director's point of view.
So go if you feel like it. Have fun if you can. But, the popcorn may be the best part.
