Since 2013, the Bay Area Women's Center has given men the chance to stand up against domestic violence and sexual assault through its 100 Men Campaign.

The idea being having 100 men donate $100 each or more to the center.

With the success of the campaign, Bob Thomas, who is spearheading the campaign this year, is ramping it up a notch.

"My goal is to evolve from the 100 Men Campaign to the 100s of Men Campaign," he said. "We want to take it to the next level in the amount of money we can raise for this cause. There is a lot of potential to grow this campaign."

Those making a tax deductible contribution will have their names listed in an ad in the Bay City Times on Father's Day, June 19, as well as on the center's Web site, www.bawc-mi.org and the center's Facebook page.

Deadline for donating is April 30 by sending a check to the Bay Area Women's Center, PO Box 1458, Bay City, 48706.

Registration forms are available online, by calling the center at 686-2251, or emailing to info@bawc-mi.org.

Of note, says Thomas is the fact that 100 percent of the money raised goes to help women and children.

"I've been involved in fundraising for non-profits for the past 200 years," he said. "I think this is the single most important issue as a man, that I or anyone else could contribute to in this community."

Thomas also extends an invitation to men to stop by the center to see how the money helps the women and children not only housed at the center but those who take part in the education and prevention services.
