Spoiler Free Movie Review - Indepence Day: Resurrection

THU 4:18PM We really enjoyed "Independence Day: Resurgence". It was very fun and entertaining. I know the first one was very inspiring. Especially the President's speech. This one also definitely had its inspiring moments.

I missed Will Smith who was absent because he wanted too big a salary. Also, the producers wanted the movie to be about the story, not Will Smith. He was replaced by Jesse T. Usher, who played his son. Jeff Goldblum, Judd Hirsh, Brent Spiner, Robert Loggia, Vivica Fox, and Bill Putnam reprised their roles and did a fine job. The new actors, Liam Hemsworth as the hotshot pilot, Maika Monroe as the daughter of the president in the first movie, and William Fechtner as a General also were good.

It takes place two decades after the first Independence Day. They have used the alien technology to advance the people and the planet. The cohesion of all the peoples of the world that was brought about because of having to work together to defeat the aliens is very obvious. Too bad that doesn't really exist. The USA now have a new president played by Sela Ward. She was very presidential and convincing. You knew it was going to come out all right, but it was still deliciously tense. The CGI were well done.

It obviously is going to have a sequel and I will go to that one also.

So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
