Why Should You Attend? You can take steps to prevent type 2 diabetes from developing. Once you develop type 2 diabetes, it won?t go away, so it?s better to prevent it in the first place. (Pre-diabetes is a fasting glucose level between 100 and 125. A fasting glucose of 126 or higher means diabetes.) As you get older, especially if you are overweight, your chances of having pre-diabetes increase. Anyone over the age of 45 and overweight should be checked for diabetes.

You must attend most classes. There is a $25 per person charge for the entire session, payable at the first class. You must pre-register by calling McLaren Bay Region?s Diabetes Education Program at (989) 894-9528.
