Trinity Episcopal Church, Bay City, celebrates Epiphany

Trinity Episcopal Church in Bay City will celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany on Friday, January 6, 2017. with an 11:30 a.m. sung communion. The day is one of seven major feasts in the Episcopal Church year. Rev. Susan C. Rich will officiate with Jett Whitehead serving as Eucharistic minister and acolyte, Mary K Freel as cantor and Robert Sabourin as organist-choirmaster.
The service will include familiar hymns of Epiphany including ?What Star is This? (Puer nobis) by Michael Praetorius (1570-1621), ?How Bright Appears the Morning Star? (Wie schön leuchtet) by Philipp Nicolai (1556-1608), harmonized by J. S. Bach (1685-1750), ?Brightest and Best? (Morning Star) by James Proctor Harding (1850-1922) and ?As with Gladness Men of Old? (Dix) by William Henry Monk (1823-1889).
Choral music will include ?From the Rising of the Sun? by F.A. Gore Ouseley (1825-1889) and ?O Little Town of Bethlehem? (Forrest Green) arranged by David Willcocks (1919-2015).
The service is open to the public free of charge. In the Episcopal Church, holy communion is open to any baptized person. Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 815 N Grant Street on the corner of Grant and Center Avenue. Barrier free access is from the parking lot on the west side of the building.
