The St. Pats Race Committee announced today that the St Patrick's Day Irish Double spots for 2017 have all been filled!
Committee spokesperson, Linda Flues (in a press release) said that race organizers "are thrilled at the excitement around the Irish Double offering and fully understand the disappointment of those who weren't able to register in time to get a spot."
"It is very important to us to bring you a fun, well organized and safe race," said Flues. "We have to plan well ahead to be able to accomplish such a task and limiting the Irish Double is just one way to achieve that by ordering medals and shirts well ahead of time."
Even though the Irish Double is full racers and walkers are still able to register for both the 5k and 8k events!
Flues said that going forward, the committee will carefully evaluate the possibility of opening up the Irish Double to allow more participation for next year.
Flues said that she hopes everyone understands and that everyone is looking forward to celebrating this year's St. Patrick's Day Races in the city of Bay City.
