Spoiler Free Movie Review - Beauty and the Beast

I saw "Beauty and the Beast". Very satisfying to the ear and eye. It was a fun movie to watch.

The cinematography was excellent. There was some CGI. The Beast played by Dan Stevens had a costume but his face was CGI rather that trying to do that with makeup. Emma Watson as Belle has a lovely singing voice. I was pleasantly surprised actually. It was nice seeing the support from Kevin Klein as her father, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Ian McKellan as Cogsworth, Josh Gad as LeFou, and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts. Luke Evans was Gaston complete with a cleft chin.

I really enjoyed the singing and dancing. There were a few new songs and some added lyrics to Gaston's number to make it a little more mature.

The plot is much closer to the original story. For example the Beast can read and is educated or why else would he have such a vast library.

It is definitely worth seeing at least once. I suspect we will see it listed in the 2018 Academy Awards nominations, at least under music and filming.
