We saw "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" on the first night. Good movie. Fun movie.
You get to see old friends: Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, Orlando Bloom in the small but important role of Will Turner, and briefly Keira Knightly as Elizabeth Swan. There are some new friends who do an excellent job: Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar, Brenton Thwaites as Henry Turner and Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smyth. Of course, some of Captain Sparrow's crew are back. All the actors look like they are having as much fun as the audience.
The antagonist is Captain Salazar who is seeking revenge on Jack for besting him and causing him and his crew to be cursed.
Throughout the movie, Johnny Depp performs so much slapstick kids will love it. There are a nice amount of laughs.
The special effects are beautiful. However, they do provide a couple of scenes that push the movie into PG-13 territory.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
