NEW CEO SOUGHT: Bay Area Community Foundation Head Retires

Eileen Curtis Oversaw BACF Assets 35 Percent Rise

The Bay Area Community Foundation's Board of Trustees has "regretfully accepted" CEO Eileen Curtis's resignation and has begun a search for her replacement.

Curtis will remain with the Foundation through the end of the year.

Curtis has announced her retirement effective December 2017. Curtis has served as President & CEO since 2007.

The Board has hired In-Fusion Group LLC to assist in the recruitment effort.

Since joining the Foundation in 2007, Curtis has overseen a 35% growth in assets from $27 million to $36 million. The foundation was established in 1982.

During her tenure, the Foundation has awarded over $13 million in grants to nonprofit organizations and scholarships to students pursuing postsecondary education.

Curtis played an integral role in the implementation of the Bay Commitment First Generation Scholarship and the Great Lakes Bay College and Career Resource Center.

Working closely with the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, she was one of the community leaders implementing the Bay County Road Map to the Future.

Curtis served on the boards of the Council of Michigan Foundations, the Michigan College Access Network, the Northeastern Michigan Estate Planning Council, Mid-Michigan Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and McLaren Bay Region Medical Center.

"I have enjoyed being part of the Foundation's growth over the past 10 years," said Mrs. Curtis.
