BAY AREA CHAMBER ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF RYAN TARRANT AS NEW PRESIDENT/CEO

The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Ryan Tarrant has been selected as the Chamber's new President and CEO and will start on September 18. Tarrant, a native of Bay City, has extensive government and community affairs experience, most recently serving as chief of staff to Congressman John Moolenaar in Washington, DC. Prior to his position of chief of staff in DC, Tarrant was the district director, external affairs director and constituent relations representative for Congressman Dave Camp in Midland, MI.

Tarrant has nearly two decades of professional experience in legislative, budget, staffing levels, media relations, and community and public initiatives. He also worked with community leaders to identify priorities as they related to Michigan.

"I am honored to join the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce," said Tarrant. "The Chamber's work is vital to the region's business community and I look forward to working with the Chamber's board, volunteers, and staff to grow the organization and to promote the interest and ensure the livelihood of local businesses."

Earlier Tarrant worked for Michigan Bankers Association in Lansing, MI, as the political affairs manager, providing state-wide grassroots initiatives centered on marketing and brand recognition between the association, membership and key legislators to maximize banker influence in Michigan.

Michael Stodolak, Chairman of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, said, "We received applications nationwide with many strong local candidates. Ryan Tarrant was the ideal choice. He brings tremendous strength and energy to the position as we look to continue to build upon the many opportunities and great things happening in Bay County. "We are pleased to welcome Ryan and feel that his leadership and proven track record will complement the Chamber's staff and keep the organization on a path of success and ever increasing achievements."

Stodolak would like to thank the President and CEO Search Committee, led by Pat O'Brien, CEO of Emcor, Corp.; for all their work on making this very important recommendation.

Tarrant is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University with a degree in Political Science. He also attended post graduate studies at Central Michigan University.
