MOVIE REVIEW -- "The Mountain Between Us"

Don't let the naysayers cause you to not go see "The Mountain Between Us". Take a chance and make up your own mind.

I went with a group of 7. Men and women and we all liked it. The scenery was beautiful I have to admit though it made me cold.

The plot revolves around a pair of strangers stranded in Idaho due to a storm. The lady, Alex Martin played by Kate Winslet, talks the man, Ben Bass played by Idris Elba, into renting a small plane and pilot to fly them out ahead of the storm. The plane crashes. The rest is their fight to survive.

The story is a somewhat predictable. There are a couple of twists that make it exciting. It's a comfortable story. Emotional, exciting but comfortable.

The filming is gorgeous and well done. I didn't think it was slow or too long. It doesn't follow every single step they take or the day they spend lost. The acting is very good. They both do a marvelous job of course. Their faces and eyes say so much.

So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
