MOVIEW REVIEW: Black Panther

We saw "Black Panther"!

What a great show.

The story revolves around the fictional country Wakanda, in Africa. The scientists of the nation are far more technologically advanced than the rest of the world, thanks to the use of vibranium. That is a rare mineral that comes from a meteor the country was built over. The lab that their chief scientist has is fantastic and can accomplish almost anything. Through their technology, the country has remained hidden from the rest of the world.

Chadwick Boseman was T'Challa/Black Panther. He is the king of Wakanda. His younger sister, Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, is the chief scientist. She is brilliant. The women and men are equals. His army is even made up of women who are quite the fighters. Michael B. Jordan plays Erik Killmonger. He comes to Wakanda to challenge the throne of T'Challa.

Also in the cast is Angela Bassett as T'Challa and Shuri's mother the queen. Andy Serkis is the really bad guy, Ulysses Klaue. Martin Freeman is a CIA agent and old friend of the Black Panther.

It was so nice to see a good role model in T'Challa for all kids, especially black kids. Also seeing the women as excellent role models were nice too. The special effects are really neat. I love the Black Panther suit. Shuri made it using vibranium so that it absorbs energy directed at it and can then use the energy as a weapon. By the way, vibranium is what was used to make Captain America's indestructible shield.

It was beautifully filmed. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the Black Panther in "Avengers: Infinity Wars."

So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
