MOVIE REVIEW: "Love, Simon"

I really, really liked "Love, Simon." The acting was spot on and the story was so well told.
It's about a young man, Simon, played very well by Nick Robinson, who is a senior in high school. He has a nice group of friends, he seems to be doing well in school, he has a great family and he's gay. He hasn't come out to anyone. Not family or friends and barely, himself. When his secret is threatened he has to come to grips with it all.
Much of the storyline takes place at their high school. The kids are typical. You have the Overachiever, the Socially Inept, the Jerks, the Trying-Too-Hard Vice Principal, the New Kid, the Take-Charge Teacher and the Best Friends. They are all very believable. The director, Greg Berlanti, must relate well with young people. It's a tear-jerker, both sad and happy tears.
Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp, Keiynan Lonsdale and Jorge Lendeborg Jr all do a great job as his friends. His parents are played by Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Garner.
I would really recommend this movie to everyone. It puts into perspective a situation some must face and the rest must understand. It's funny and sweet and thought-provoking.
So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
