MOVIE REVIEW: ?Upside? is a Feel Good Movie

?Upside? is an uplifting, serious and funny movie. It definitely was a feel-good movie. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

I wondered if Kevin Hart as the care giver, Dell Scott, would have the acting chops for this part. He does. It was fun watching him tackle a more serious part. Bryan Cranston is the quadriplegic, Phillip Lacasse, whom Dell takes care of. Nicole Kidman is Phillip?s secretary, Yvonne. She is dead-set against hiring Dell and says if he gets 3 strikes he?ll be gone. Phillip insists on hiring him and the two of them click. It,s fun to watch them both grow.

The acting is very good by everyone. I can,t imagine how difficult it must have been for Cranston to be totally limp and not automatically try to help when they were moving him. Yes, the plot may have been somewhat predictable. It was based on a true story which made it even nicer.

So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
