Midland Street Wine Walk 2006

Historic Midland Street on Bay City's West Side , will hold their first annual Wine Walk this Thursday, June 8th.

The Wine Tasting starts at 5:00 till 10:00. Each Establishment will have two different Wines to sample.

Complimentary appetizers and a Souvenir Wine Glass will be provided. Participants can start at either end of Midland Street, Tommy V's or Hooters to pick up a souvenir wine glass.

Knights Luxury Transport will have a shuttle bus available for the convenience of wine "tourists."

According to John McCallum, (co-owner of Lucky's Pub, Westown, Lumberjacks and The Diamond Ballroom), "All together participants will receive 26 samples of red and white wines from around the world, plus hors d'oeuvres at each location. That's a Great Value for twenty dollars," said McCallum. "It will be a good time!"

"The wines served will be coordinated by country," said Penny Warner from The Stables & Lumber Barons'. "Each participating businesswill serve a different type of wine from an assortment of vineyards," Warner continued. "Join us for some wine tasting at all the fun night spots on the west side!"

Warner added: "This wine walk is one of the many events planned for this summer. We hope this will continue to bring people into the area."

Paulette Horen, Owner of The Rathskeller, said, "It should be a fun event! It won't be overly crowded, because tickets are limited and every stop is within a 5 block radius,"Horen continued.

"Knights Limousine Service will have a shuttle bus traveling back & forth between Tommy V's & Hooters," Horen added.

Renee Wyzgowski, Owner of O'Hare Bar and Midland Street Pub, said " We are looking forward to Thursday night!" (The 1st annual wine walk on Midland Street), "We hope to get a good turn out."
