Despite the weekend's hot temperatures, Corvette buffs and owners roared onto Midland Street on Bay City's West Side for Saturday's Bay Valley Corvettes 2006 Car Show.
The Bay Valley Corvette Club is a group of Corvette owners who enjoy sharing their pride and joy with other Corvette owners. The club is dedicated to servicing the Bay City, Midland and Saginaw area. The club is made up of all years and styles of Corvettes.
Corvettes were on display Saturday from 8:00am to 3:00pm on Midland Street following a Friday night show at the Bay Valley Hotel & Resort in Frankenlust Township.
Approximately 150 Corvettes were on display. Viewing was free to the public. Corvettes lined the full length of Midland Street -- From Walnut Street down to Tommy V's.
(Right) Tim Horton's had a stand to keep Corvette fans hydrated (as the temperature rose) and there was plenty of water readily available.
June 30th 1953 was when the first Corvettes rolled off the assembly line.
Corvette buff John McCallum, of Bay City, with wife Faye said, "We've owned Corvettes that were manufactured in the 1950's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's." McCallum continued, "Its good to see the car show come to Midland Street. We usually make it to all the local car shows."
