The Bay Area Community Foundation's
Youth Advisory Committee will host "Rock by the Dock" Saturday, August 5th. Featuring Bay City's own Katherine Schell.
20 year old Schell turned to song-writing and piano to vent her emotions when her brother, Greg, was diagnosed with Leukemia in 1999.
She developed a soulful, electric style that expressed both anguish and hope; both dreams and fears.
Since then she launched her music career with her band
Emergency.
She won the VH1's International Song of the Year Award in 2005 and recorded her debut album "Empty Streets".
Katherine will preform at 2:30 to 3:30 Saturday afternoon at the Labadie Pig Gig.
The concert will also feature Bay Area Youth Bands including:
