LAST WEEK: Group Study Exchange Team from India visited Bay City.
Mike Stoner introduced the Group Study Exchange team which is visiting the District for a month. The team hails from India Rotary District 3050 in the northern part of the country near the Pakistan border.
Mike noted that this was a good time of year for the team to come. Normally teams come in April when Winter is about over but Spring has not arrived. Coming at the end of summer works well for good weather and many events. All members of the team are vegetarians, so this is also a good time of year as the harvests are coming in and the vegetable stands are all opening.
This year the team is staying with host families while in Bay City. In the past they have stayed at local B&B's. Their trip is starting well as host families are showing them the sights and the American Life style.
One of the treats, which seems to be on its way to being a tradition, is a pot-luck dinner with Mike Stoner and his neighbors, the farmers in Pinconning. Mike reported that the dinner last week was great fun for all. Our guests are treated to the true hospitality and fellowship for which we're known.
The Rotary Club of Bay City extends its wholehearted welcome to the 2006 GSE team!
