Cool Temperatures Can't Stop Walkers From Wine-Tasting Tour

Eighth Annual Sold Out Event Brings Thousands to Downtown Bay City

The 8th Annual East Side Wine Walk was held this past Thursday night. The sold out event has become one of the most popular events of the year on Bay City's East Side.

The event includes much more then wine and hors d' oeuvres. A Souvenir glass from the State Theatre is the first stop on the wine tour, and then on to 13 of Downtown Bay City's finest restaurants and pubs, which include two samplings of wine from regions around the world plus hors d' oeuvres & unique food samplings.

There was Musical entertainment throughout the streets of the downtown area, as well as inside the establishments with all different style of music. One of the hot spots was at Striker's Sports Bar which the popular country band called " 25 cent beer" performed and were a real crowd pleaser. The band performs at Striker's the 2nd Friday of each month. Their next gig will be on Friday October 13th.

  • Old City Hall - 814 Saginaw Street
  • Princess Wenonah - Wenonah Park
  • Quality Inn - 501 Saginaw Street
  • Stein Haus - 1108 Water Street
  • Striker's Sports Bar - 1203 Washington


  • Also serving special treats during the walk are:
  • Water Front Market & Deli - 925 Water Street;
  • The Sweet Boutique - 816 Washington Avenue;
  • St. Laurent Brothers - 1101 Water Street;
  • Timothy's Fine Tobaccos - 807 Saginaw Street.


  • Complimentary shuttle buses were provided by Knight's Luxury Transport.
