TOUGHMAN GOES PRO - PROFESSIONAL BOXING SERIES at The Dow Event Center on Saturday, December 16th featured professional boxing matches featuring the Tri Cities best professional fighters.
Kicking off the weekend on Friday, December 15th , was the combat cage events. The Toughman goes in a cage, with the Toughman MMA Cage Combat.
Currently, MMA fighting is the hottest show on cable television.
Toughman spokesman, Steve Coppler says the best extreme fighters from around the Midwest battled in action packed Mixed Martial Arts. "This was the first time for a cage in Michigan," Coppler said.
Headlining the card on Saturday was Eric "Butterbean" Esch, known as the King of the Four Rounders, starting in boxing winning 18 Toughman events. Butterbean has fought such notables as Peter McNeeley and Larry Holmes. His round body (close to 400 lbs), bald head and vicious scowl, make him a menacing (yet highly entertaining) fight figure.
