Bay City Scores Well in Midwest Doubles Paddleball Tourney

Wisniewski, Wackerle, DeGreif and Chritz Claim Top Trophies

You could always find long-time tourney director, Lorri Brigham, at the Match Board during the tournament.

The Midwest Doubles (formerly the Michigan State Doubles) Paddleball Tournament was held this week-end at the Midland Community Center in Midland, Michigan.

Bay City paddleball players walked away with four titles after the shoot-out was over.

Mike Wisniewski and Chad Krager won two titles each. In the Mens' Open division, Bay City's Wisniewski and Krager (Now playing out of Chicago) defeated Kalamazoo's Andy Mitchell and Don Kirkconell 21-17, 21-20 in the finals.

Wisniewski then teamed up with Bay City's Paul Chritz to win the Master's division (45+). The pair out-shot Mitchell and Midland's Randy Hoyle in the title match 21-16, 21-17.

Krager won his second title in the "A" division playing with Don Kirkconell. They out-scored Lansing's John Lowman and Brandon Creamer 17-21, 21-16, 21-16 in a two hour marathon.

In the Golden Masters division (55+) Bay City's Randy Wackerle and Sandy DeGreif came from behind to defeat Kalamazoo's Brad Ex and Bill Farmer 18-21,21-14, 21-10 in the championship match.

In Mens' B Division, Bay City's Rich Rahall and Greg Keenan finished third.

The next doubles tournament this season will be on April 20th at Riverside, California for the National Doubles Championships.
