Be Thankful For Snow & Cold Temperatures

Why not take a trip down south?

The next time your complaining about the cold temperatures, here is something to consider and to be thankful you live in Michigan.

A few days ago, The Brown Recluse Spider caught my eye on the National Geographic Channel, it is a venomous spider which usually bites only when pressed against human skin, and the initial bite frequently cannot be felt and there may be no pain, but over time the wound may grow to as large as 10 inches and worsens as time passes. The bite can be fatal to those with a weaker than normal immune system.

They can be found in the lower parts of the country, including Florida. Speaking of Florida, I'm planning a trip to Florida in the near future.

Next on the show was The Eastern Diamondback Snake, another favorite species of mine. This Rattlesnake is often considered the most dangerous snake in North America. Their large size and potent venom make a bite from a Diamondback a very serious and potentially deadly injury, which also can be found in Florida, did I mention - I will be vacationing in Florida soon?

Next were alligators which can move faster then you think. Despite their appearance, they are extremely quick and capable of amazingly fast bursts of speed. It has been said that an alligator can outrun a horse for a distance of 30 feet. They can be found in almost every single body of water in Florida, such as swamps, lakes, drainage canals and marshes.... like maybe on a Golf Course...??

Now that "The Wild" on the National Geographic Channel has got my attention, I thought I would sit down and review what other creatures I might come across down south.

Killer bee swarms, Sharks obviously, then they started talking about Mountain Lions or better known as Cougars.... Alright finally an animal, I like. Oh but guess what, not likely to be found in Florida . . . and when is Hurricane season anyway??

Well now that I'm all psyched for my trip to Florida, suddenly when I look out the window and see the snow and step outside and feel the below freezing temperatures, it doesn't bother me so much. In fact, I'm quite content and thankful to live here in Beautiful Bay City, Michigan!
