I Got To Meet Gallagher While He Was In Bay City

Gallagher Is "Just One of the Guys" When He Visits Bay City's West Side

I met Gallagher inside Stables during the Michigan Challenge (Idol) singing competition at Stables last Wednesday night.

Gallagher was in town for a "one night stand" at Bay City's downtown State Theater.

Gallagher told me that he was just "out on the town" and passing time until his show the following night. Gallagher was already checked into the Euclid Motel and was checking out Bay City's night life.

I have been a Gallagher fan since the first time I saw him in action. His "Sledge-O-Matic" has been one of my all time favorites since as long as I can remember.

"I like these kind of towns," Gallagher said with that familiar twinkle in his eye. (You're never really sure if he's putting you on or not.) Gallagher told me that this was his 4th or 5th Michigan concert. "I'll be in Cheboygan over the weekend," he laughed.

Gallagher told me he was in the middle of his "Going Everywhere" tour." He said that he had played on two different occasions in the Upper Peninsula town of Houghton. We both laughed at what a long ride it was from the Mackinac Bridge to that northernmost Michigan city.

Gallagher had already visited Buffalo Wild Wings, O'Hare's and Lucky's before happening onto the Wednesday Idol-like show at Stables. "Actually, I was on my way down to Hooters when I saw all the cars and figured I'd just stop in and see what was happening."

Gallagher = Real Nice Guy!

I hope he enjoyed his visit to Bay City as much as I enjoyed my visit with him.

"These scissors could use a little sharpening," Gallagher laughed, struggling to cut through the material.
