Doggie Social at Bay County Fairgrounds is Big Hit With Local Pups

Prizes, Contests, Demos Are Part of the 1ST-Ever Bay City Doggie "Mingler"

Doggie "Minglers" have become the rage in the tri-cities.

"Minglers" are held twice a month in Midland and regularly at Saginaw's Imerman Park according to Debbie Andrews, President of the Humane Society. "The park here at the Bay County Fairgrounds is a perfect spot for a doggie social event," Andrews said. "So we thought we would give it a try in Bay County."

The weather on Wednesday was threatening rain but local "Doggie Social" organizers made every effort to have a successful event.

Planned events included demonstrations on the park's agility equipment and a "best trick" contest.

Andrews also said there would be a drawing for prizes and that 18 different items would be handed out to participants. Books, toys, balls and pet supplies were included in the prize list.
