QUESTIONS for Mayoral Candidates (Interview Held 9:00 a.m. Monday 10-8-07) at MyBayCity Studios, 509 Center Ave, Bay City, MI. Participants: Charles Brunner and Michael Wooley.

  • 1. Why do you want to be mayor? What are your qualifications?

  • 2. Assuming that property taxes are too high across the board, what would you try to do to reduce property taxes and also make the city financially viable?

  • 3. The issue of a possible income tax has been raised in campaign advertising: Where do you stand on the issue of an income tax?

  • 4. Do you believe the city is over-staffed? If so, where would you recommend that personnel cuts be made? What areas of city operations do you think could be consolidated or merged with the county or other governmental units to achieve savings?

  • 5. State Income Tax Issues . . . Your Thoughts?
