It's Halloween at
Bay City State Park Campground for campers first two weekends in October

Halloween arrived early for Ghosts and Ghouls who were out this past weekend at Bay City State Park Campground. The Campground has Halloween early every year for it's Campers.

According to Ken Marlow, Park Ranger, there are 184 sites at Bay City's State Park Camp Ground. "We have been having an early Halloween for several years now."

Marlow said, "We started out having it in August, now we have at the beginning of October." "It has got so popular, that starting in 2006, the park holds 2 Halloween weekends."

Marlow continued," We have 'trick or treating' the first 2 weekends of October. "On the third weekend, we have a 'Halloween Trail' at the Bay City State Recreation Area, across the street."

Sites are decorated in Halloween theme. "Its quite impressive to see all the camps decorated with lights and Halloween decoration, I think each year, campers try to out-do one another", said one local camper.

Tentatively, there are still a few sites available for this weekend (October 13, 2007), call 1-800-447-2757 to make a reservation.

(Must be in the park by 5:00pm, "trick or treat" time is 5:30pm to 7:00pm)

One of the most popular sites, every year is the one giving out 'fresh popped' bags of popcorn for their "tricker or treaters".
