Bay City is aglow from Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve with holiday activities that bring families together to celebrate this special time of year.

The River of Lights is the centerpiece of Bay City's holiday celebration with over 30 lighted displays lining the Saginaw River, November 23-December 31, from 6-11 p.m.

A special driving and walking route through Veterans Memorial Park has been designed to help everyone enjoy these beautiful displays. Enter the park by taking S. Henry St. to J.F. Kennedy Drive. Toy Soldiers will help light the way.

This year there's a Warming House, sponsored by Tim Horton, in Vets Park. It will be open from 6-10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with hot chocolate and coffee, plus other holiday decorations and treats available for purchase.

Special activities will also be taking place in the parking lot at Lumber Baron's Grill & Brew Pub, including a Christmas tree lot and Saturday visits from Santa.

The jolly old elf holds court at the Santa House, a magical wonderland of holiday lights and displays enchanting boys and girls of all ages.

Santa arrives by train on November 24 at 6:00 p.m. Visit with Santa at the Santa House through December 22, and through December 3, don't miss seeing a few of Santa's reindeer as they rest up for the big night. The Santa House is located on J.F. Kennedy Drive.

Sundays in the City include, carolers and musicians stroll downtown sidewalks and merchants add to the festivities with free gift wrapping and holiday treats.

Complimentary rides on a horse-drawn carriage, holiday movies at the State Theatre, and Downtown's own Santa Bucks coupon make the historic shopping district a holiday experience not to be missed, November 25, December 2, 9, 16 & 23.

Plus, Santa's Arrival takes place in Wenonah Park on Friday, November 23 at 7:00 p.m. with Santa at the Delta Planetarium afterward.

Bay City's River of Light Tour is funded by the generous contributions of local businesses and organization and through the efforts of many dedicated volunteers.
