The movie "Pursuit of Happiness" will be playing at the Bay City State Theatre on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 7:00PM and on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 7:00PM.

Chris Gardner has big dreams for him and his family but it doesn't seem to come together for him. Gardner has an opportunity to be a stock broker but first he has to go through a grueling internship which means no pay.
Gardner decides to do it but when his wife leaves and he is evicted, he has to take care of his son on his own. So they find themselves sometimes living on the street and struggling to get by. But Gardner is determined to make it.

This is a Good Samaritan Rescue Mission Mens Fundraiser. Their
Mission statement is expressing God's love by reaching out to the hurting and homeless of the Bay area by providing shelter and care, by developing a community of support, and by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ.
Over 100 men have physically come to the doors of GSRM needing a place to stay in 2007. Help us provide a local solution to a growing problem.

Environmental Film Festival - Saturday, January 12, 2008
The purpose of this video competition is to involve students and educators in the active study of the ecosystem.
The film festival is expected to inspire other people to think about ecology and the present condition of the Great Lakes region. Students will be encouraged to use their presentation video to promote environmental improvement and show how other people have created practical solutions to environmental problems.
